Elisabeth Hasselbeck Leaving “The View” for “Fox & Friends”

After many months of speculation, Elisabeth Hasselbeck made her departure from "The View" official on Tuesday night (July 9).

The co-host, who has been with the daytime talk show since 2003, will part ways with the NBC staple and take on a new role on Fox News Channel's morning show "Fox & Friends."

In a statement from Ms. Hasselbeck, she said “I have been a long-time fan of ‘Fox & Friends’ and am excited to be joining their team in September.”

Fox News' chairman Roger Ailes also commented, “Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on ‘The View.’ She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”

As for "The View" creator Barbra Walters, she spoke of Elisabeth's exit saying, “We have had ten wonderful years with Elisabeth and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good.”
