He’s always been a fan of philanthropy, and Prince William has thrown his endorsement behind the Amateur Swimming Association’s new initiative to help children learn to swim.

The Duke of Cambridge appears in a new video message from the ASA, explaining that helping kids swim is more than just about having fun.

He explains, "Swimming has always been important to me. Swimming is unique—it is the only sport that can save lives—which is why I'm so keen for school swimming to be accessible for all children at all primary schools."

"The ability to swim changes lives—it brings huge joy, and it can keep us fit and healthy. But above all, it can keep us safe, which is why I'm so pleased to lend my support to this campaign."
