Still recovering from hip surgery, Lady Gaga wheeled about town in New York City on Tuesday (April 2).

Averting her face from pesky paparazzi, the "Born this Way" singer sported a brown fur coat, black leggings, and heels in her Louis Vuitton-embellished wheelchair.

On Thursday, the boundary-pushing songstress celebrated her 27th birthday, tweeting, "So many bouquets, chocolates, cupcakes champagne and gifts I feel like a princess. Thank you for all your birthday wishes, I'm so lucky. :)"

As a special treat, Gaga's designer pal Karl Lagerfeld gave her a very personal gift. On Sunday, she posted a pic to her Twitter account of the Chanel creative director peeking behind a hand-drawn card featuring his favorite real-life mannequin on it with the message, "Dear Lady Gaga, Happy Birthday. Love, Karl Lagerfeld."
