Fulfilling her motherly responsibilities, Naomi Watts picked up her son Alexander from his Brentwood, California school yesterday afternoon (March 18).

The always-stylish “King Kong” cutie carried her little guy’s backpack as she led him by the hand across the street, sporting a beige scarf with a denim blue top.

Naomi recently told press that she’s glad that the bulk of awards show season is over, as she was tired of watching her diet so strictly.

“Luckily, I have fairly good genetics, but I do exercise. It's so good to be able to eat [what I want] again. I probably exercised more during [awards season] than I would normally. You're showing your arms. At my age you have to work a little harder, it's true.”
