Anna Nicole Smith Opera: Headed to NYC

She died of a drug overdose back in 2007, but Anna Nicole Smith's story lives on in a new opera titled simply “Anna Nicole.”

And the unique production is coming to New York City this fall, as the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the New York City Opera are teaming up for seven unforgettable performances.

After seeing the show at London’s Royal Opera House in 2011, New York Times critic Anthony Tommasini called it "a weirdly inspired work, an engrossing, outrageous, entertaining and, ultimately, deeply moving new opera."

“Anna Nicole” will run from September 17th through September 28th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House.
