With production scheduled to begin next month, producer Michael Jacobs has cast Rowan Blanchard in the lead role on “Girl Meets World,” according to reports by Entertainment Weekly.

At 11-years-old, the young actress has appeared in the films “The Backup Plan” and “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World 4D.”

About his decision, Mr. Jacobs shared, “As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews. Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”

The highly-anticipated spinoff of the popular 1990’s series “Boy Meets World” will follow the adventures of characters Corey and Topanga’s daughter, Riley.
