Lance Armstrong Confesses Sins to Oprah Winfrey

It was an intense 90-minute interview as disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong came clean about his illegal doping and use of substances to try and gain a competitive edge during “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”

The seven-time Tour de France champ (who has since had all of his medals stripped) began with a series of ‘yes-or-no’ questions and as Oprah Winfrey asked each one he immediately answered with no qualifiers.

Lance also admitted to treating many people very badly when they refused to help him perpetuate his lies. For instance, his former massage therapist Emma O’Reilly ended up on the receiving end of harsh words and lawsuits.

“She’s one of those people I have to apologize to,” Armstrong said. “She got run over, got bullied. We sued so many people. I have reached out to her to make amends.”

Meanwhile, Travis Tygart of the US Anti-Doping Agency is far from satisfied with what Armstrong has done to right his wrongs.

"Tonight, Lance Armstrong finally acknowledged that his cycling career was built on a powerful combination of doping and deceit. His admission that he doped throughout his career is a small step in the right direction. But if he is sincere in his desire to correct his past mistakes, he will testify under oath about the full extent of his doping activities."
