President Barack Obama Named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year

He mounted an impressive re-election campaign and ushered in universal healthcare so it’s no wonder President Barack Obama has been named Person of the Year by Time Magazine.

The Commander-in-Chief was also named POY back in 2008, and given his accomplishments over the past four years he was considered to be a shoo-in.

Time’s article declares, "There are many reasons for this, but the biggest by far are the nation's changing demographics and Obama's unique ability to capitalize on them.”

"He is the first president to embrace gay marriage and to offer work permits to many young undocumented immigrants,” it continued.

"For finding and forging a new majority, for turning weakness into opportunity and for seeking, amid great diversity, to create a more perfect union, Barack Obama is Time's 2012 Person of the Year."
