After battling a bought of severe morning sickness, Kate Middleton emerged from her slumber to attend the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in London on Sunday (December 16).
Before the event, a St. James's Palace spokesman announced, "The Duchess of Cambridge will tonight attend the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year Awards at the ExCeL London, where Her Royal Highness will present the Lifetime Achievement and the main Sports Personality of the Year Awards. The Duchess will attend the event in response to a longstanding invitation from the BBC."
The award show marked Kate's first official appearance since her pregnancy announcement.
The 30-year-old royal made it a point to attend since she serves as the 2012 ambassador of the U.K. Olympic and Paralympic teams.
